BeMyVolunteer Card2 square - Aha Moment: Activate Good's "Won't You Be My Volunteer?"

This is a post in our series of “Aha Moments” which feature great ideas from nonprofits and small businesses. These ideas are truly inspiring for anyone who wants to do more to engage your audiences on and offline. These projects were not created by BC/DC Ideas, we want to share them because a good idea cannot go to waste! This all part of our passion in amplifying your genius.

What a sweet idea! Activate Good, a Wake County-based volunteer match nonprofit, launched a contest this week to get people talking about their passion for volunteerism.

“Won’t You Be My Volunteer?” invites participants to share their volunteering love story for a chance to win dinner for two at The Melting Pot in Raleigh. These stories can be about how someone met their lover while volunteering, how giving of one’s time strengthens bonds between friends, or an ode to a volunteer experience that lights their fire.

What we love about this campaign is the pure communications and awareness strategy behind it. This is about sharing the joy and love of giving back to our community all while building awareness of Activate Good’s mission. Their mantra for the campaign is “Love + volunteering = all we need.” What is there not to love?

Steamy storytellers need to live in the Triangle area and tell their story in over 200 words. The story with the most votes wins. Enter your story here before February 28.
